The largest Yellow Pages company in the world Yell.com takes the lead and now launches four English cities in 3D.

Yell takes the first step towards an integrated 3D world in the future and now launches four English cities in 3D. These days when Apple reject Flash, Yell launches an advanced 3D solution that does not require any heavy plug-in for the user to confirm. Yell has chosen to completely base the 3D models on Flash because of its extensive application support. With the assistance of simple search methods you can visually see your desired destination from above and without restraint move along the city streets. The 3D models are very detailed and therefore give a realistic impression and good understanding of the environment.

C3 has been selected as one of Sweden’s most promising new technology companies by Ny Teknik and Affärsvärlden.

Over 200 companies where nominated but only 33 of them were chosen, C3 as one of them.

This makes it possible for the user to visually search for their desired destination and the Street level from C3 enables high quality imagery and extensive 3D navigation. C3 invited as one of world’s top 60 3D graphic startups

The NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference features over 130 hours of technical sessions, tutorials, panels, moderated roundtables, birds of a feather and showcases, presented by senior programmers, researchers and thought-leaders from across a broad range of fields. C3 was participating as one of the invited speakers and exhibitors representing successful startups with showing 3D intensive applications. The conference was held in San José in the heart of Silicon Valley.

To generate new and innovative 3D products for the online mapping market C3 have decided to complement the aerial photography with photos taken from cars equipped with C3 3D camera systems. With the help from street imagery our 3D city models will have the possibility for closer looks and fly throughs from the air to the street and back into the air. While the street view solutions available online today offer only panoramic views at certain spots, C3 will bring real 3D into the street view picture. C3 and the web sites responsible for publishing the street view content will comply with all legal requirements in the different countries where the images are published. Therefore facial blurring and license plate blurring will be performed where required. The street view images will also be available for municipalities and other authorities as a working tool in their daily operations, since it’ s possible to measure in the models with high accuracy. With the 3D technology it’s also possible to recognize signs on the streets and their position, which is of great interest for road authorities. Ludvig Emgård, Product Manager at C3 Technologies, performed a short demo of the C3 3D Models at the O'Reilly Conference Where 2.0 in San José, Silicon Valley, USA, in the end of May.

Ingmar Andersson, Folke Isaksson and Johan Borg from Saab Bofors Dynamics have received this year’s Saab Innovation Award. The awarded technology is the same one used by C3 Technologies to create their realistic 3D models.

The 3D models were presented at the Methodology & Tools day on May 27th in Linköping, Sweden. Impressed spectators participated in an aerial tour of Linköping, Sweden, and Marseille, France. They also got the opportunity to take part in a three dimensional presentation of the urban environments. The yearly Saab Innovation Award has been given eight times. The award winners are nominated by Saab Research Advisory Board. - This is excellent, says Tommy Johansson, CEO for C3 Technologies. We are happy for the award winners, but not surprised. We use this technology ourselves and we know it is world leading. Tommy emphasizes that this innovation award once again shows the great potential in the development of 3D models for the web and for mobile, GPS and other devices. - We have a very good collaboration with Ingmar, Folke and Johan, says Tommy. Swedish Mapping Society Innovation Award 2009 goes to C3 Technologies AB. Wednesday March 25, C3 Technologies was awarded this year’s innovation award.

Motivation For pioneering photo realistic 3D visualization of cities using innovative military technology and applying it to commercial products. The award is intended to bring attention and publicity to innovative thinking as well as stimulate development of new products, methods, services and knowledge within the Society’s sphere of activities. The Prize shall serve the interests of public and private sector development at the national level as well as support the Swedish industry’s competitiveness at an international level. Annually awarded, the innovation prize consists of a glass globe as well as a motivation for the award presented in a diploma. The award was established in 1998. The prize is awarded at the National Swedish Mapping Conference in Jönköping which is Swedens largest mapping conference within GIS, geographical IT, GPS, geodesi, photootogrammetry, cartography, visualization, laser scanning etc. Bringing together over 2000 people in three days, the GIT conference is Sweden’s main forum for professionals within the GIT field.

C3’s entire Oslo model was today released on Norway’s most well used web portal finn.no.

C3 are proud to present the current largest city model officially released. With surrounding mountains and water the view of Oslo is truly astonishing. The model is also the first C3 model to be released using ActiveX viewer technology from the Oslo based technology company MyVR.

C3 will attend the only international 3D geoinformation research conference 13th-14th November.

The 3DGeoInfo conferences gather researchers and companies within 3D geographic information. 3DGeoInfo08 is the third annual conference that this year is hosted by Mr. Jiyeong Lee at University of Seoul. Please contact C3 for booking of business related meetings during the conference.

C3 Technologies is currently flying over the major Swedish and Norwegian cities.

In order to allow even more Scandinavian residents to be able to see their hometown in 3D, C3 Technologies is currently flying over Sweden’s and Norway’s ten largest cities. With the aid of new technology in the airplane and new high performance cameras, new 3D models are generated with higher resolution and better geometric quality than the material currently available at hitta.se. The produced cities’ 3D models will be listed on our website and available on the market later this fall.

On Wednesday the 25th of July Hitta.se publihed three additional cities on the 3D service at the Hitta Labs.

During the coming year C3 will create models over the ten largest cities in Sweden. Today Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmo and Linkoping are available in the C3 database. The reason that Linkoping is available (even though it is not the fourth largest city) is that C3 Technologies are based in Linkoping.

At their search website, hitta.se has been a front-runner in technical solutions for maps. As a challenger they were for instance using "raster tiles" already in 2005 which set a new standard for Internet map solutions in Sweden. In 2006, hitta.se was the first in the country to present maps in full screen, which improved user-friendliness substantially.

Their collaboration with us started already in the autumn of 2007, when they discovered C3 Maps and immediately saw the potential in completing maps and aerial photos with our 3D photos. Today the company sees great opportunities in new, exciting services connected to the 3D photo like for example showing travel routes. Hitta.se is now among the first Yellow Pages-companies in the world using 3D maps. The ongoing development will gradually integrate hitta's standard functionality with the current 3D viewer provided by Agency9.
