Vision
Our vision is a world map – entirely in 3D. City by city, area by area, we will replace flat maps and flat aerial photos with 3D photos that you can ”fly” in.
How do we do this?
We film cities and areas digitally and create large, realistic 3D models of them. Models in which you can ”fly around” and discover the area as if you were a bird.
At present we are creating our models from aerial photos, but soon we will also create them from satellite images or from photos taken from cars.
Apart from 3D models, we can also deliver 45° images, ortophotos and height data.
For whom?
This new technology has been met with great interest – especially from Yellow Pages producers and city authorities. Because our 3D models contain the exact longitude, latitude and height indication in every pixel, it is very easy to position actual addresses, street names, restaurants and other business locations in the model.
Others who benefit from our services include forest owners who want to measure their forests to plan for harvest, and high-voltage-cable owners who need to discover any trees at risk of falling on the cables.
Background & Future
C3 Technologies was founded during the autumn of 2007, when we also completed our first pilot project. We filmed Stockholm from the air and created a digital 3D model of the city in less than 3 days. That was sensationally fast, as it takes 6–12 months with traditional technology for a similar production.
This proof of our superior speed and precision promises a continuing success. During 2008 we will deliver 3D models of the biggest cities in Sweden – and then start with Norway and Denmark.
Our models will be found on the Internet, in cars and in cell phones.
Owner
C3 Technologies AB is a subsidiary of Saab AB, which provides the unique image processing technology our services are based upon.
The second largest shareholder is Verdane Capital; one of Scandinavia’s biggest venture capital companies with head office in Norway. Verdane has helped build around 100 high tech businesses, and will assist us in rapidly turning C3 into a global enterprise.
